Animated Heart Tag

This tutorial was written entirely by me on February 1, 2004. Any resemblence to any other tutorial is purely coincidental.

This tutorial was written using Paint shop Pro 7.04, but can be done using PSP 8 as well. In PSP 8, make sure you save your psp files as PSP 7 compatible for use in Animation Shop.

For this tutorial you will need Jasc Paint Shop Pro and Animation Shop. You can download a 30 day free trial HERE.

Open a new image 75 x 75 pixels, transparent background, and zoom in until you're comfortable with the size. (I zoomed in to about 7:1)

With your paint brush at the following settings:

Outline a heart in a dark color of your choice following the pattern below.

To make life easier for the other hearts, after you are finished with the outlining, go to selections, select all; selctions/float; selections/save to disk and save your selection with the name heart.sel in the folder of your choice (I save mine to the same folder I save my work to. Every project has a different folder). Deselect.

With your magic wand, tolerance 0, feather 0, click inside heart and flood fill with a lighter shade of the same color, do not deselect.

While still selected, Effects/3D Effects/Cutout with the following settings (make sure Fill interior with color is checked and is the same as your fill color. Your shadow color will be the same as your outline color.):

Click OK, and deselect.

Save as a .psp file and minimize.
