Cross Weave Frame

This tutorial was written entirely by me on December 5, 2003. Any resemblence to any other tutorial is completely coincidental.
This tutorial was written using Paint Shop Pro 7.04, but can be done using other versions as well. It assumes that you have a basic working knowledge of Paint Shop Pro.
You will need the supplies that I've zipped together. Download it HERE.
You will also need: Paint Shop Pro. You can download a 30 day trial version HERE.
VM Natural: Cross Weave, download it HERE.
Alf's Power Toys: Mirror offset, download it HERE.
Toadie's Blast'n'Blur, you can download Toadies 2 HERE but it doesn't include Blast'N'Blur, I've included that in the zip file of supplies.
VM Experimental: Mighty Maze, it can be downloaded at the same time as VM Natural
Are we ready?
From the supplies I've provided, extract the custom brush to your brushes folder in PSP. I'm not sure where I downloaded the brush from, but if anyone knows, could you please inform me so I can give proper credit.
Extract the GoodDay.jgd to your gradients folder in PSP. This is a gradient I made. There used to be a wonderful tutorial online for making your own gradients, but the last I checked, it has disappeared.
Open the frame2image.jpg in PSP or use another image of your choice. Hit Control-D to duplicate the image and close the original. Save the file now to wherever you save your working projects so that as you go along, you only have to hit Control-S to save. And don't forget to SAVE OFTEN!
With a background color of black (#000000), Images/Add Border, 1 pixel, and make sure Symmetric is checked. All borders added for this frame will be symmetric, so I won't be repeating that part.

With your magic wand, tolerance and feather both set to 0, select the border you just added. Selections/Invert, Effects/3D Effects/Cutout, and apply a cutout with the following settings (making sure Fill interior with color is UNCHECKED):

Repeat the cutout changing the Horizontal and Vertical to -6.
Selections/Select None
Choose a light color from the image, make it your background color, Images/Add border, and add a border of 1 pixel. I used #DACAC6.
Background color of black, Images/Add border, add a border of 1 pixel.
Background color white (#FFFFFF), Images/Add border, add a border of 5 pixels.
On your Styles palette, foreground, click on the arrow to change your foreground to a gradient. Click in the middle of the gradient shown, to bring up your gradient choices. Scroll until you find the GoodDay gradient and click on that. Click OK. Choose Linear Gradient and change the angle to 315 and the repeats to 5. Click OK.
