With your Magic Wand, click inside the opening on the front of the birdhouse (marked with an E) and flood fill with color #9 (#404040). Selections/Float, Effects/3D Effects/Cutout at the following settings:

Vertical 0, Horizontal 4, Opacity 100, Blur 6, Color #10 (#808080)

Optional: I added noise at the following settings:

Gaussian, 7%, Monochrome checked
PSP 7, use Random at 7

Almost done ... zoom in again, and with your paint brush, add a 17 pixel perch below the opening, as pictured below:

You're done! Congratulations! Save in psp format for later use.
